Diane Dhein's love for cooking and sewing began in 4-H when she was 10 years old. The blue ribbons she earned at the county fair inspired her creativity in both the kitchen and the sewing room, and the Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics (Family and Consumer Science) from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point was the springboard for her creative endeavors.
Diane has taught sewing-related classes throughout the United States and Canada for Nancy's Notions, where she was also the catalog fabric buyer, educational consultant, and retail store manger for 13 years. In addition to teaching high school home economics, she has owned a fabric store, designed patterns, was an education consultant for Baby Lock sewing machines, and was licensed as a Martha Pullen instructor. Diane's fond memories of 4-H have inspired her to become an accredited county fair judge.
She is currently employed as a technical writer for Nancy's Notions in Beaver Dam, WI, and has a small home-based business, "Designs by Dhein." Diane and her husband live near Madison, WI, and have three married children, one grandson, and three granddaughters.
